Ivan covers how to identify and remember commonly used first-position areas of the fret board in the key of G--which will help you find a melody easily on a standard bluegrass song--and how to incorporate rolls, slides, hammer-ons/pull-offs, and other essential dobro techniques to create a coherent and interesting bluegrass solo, mostly just using the first 5 frets. It really goes through the process of why notes are chosen and why/how certain rolls and licks work in the context of actual songs.
